Our Democracy needs all voices to function properly. It is not in danger due to increased participation but from the lack of it. Groups of people have been deprived the right of voting and participation throughout our history with similar arguments as used today against teenagers voting. Today the voting age in most countries is eighteen.  Same age ancient Athenians were voting during Perikles golden era in 449-431 B.C. Can you imagine how many things have changed in the last thousands of years but not the voting age?
