Hurricane Idalia is forecast to make landfall in Florida Wednesday as a Category 2, possibly Category 3, hurricane along the Big Bend region on the state's Gulf coast near Tallahassee.  

 The storm is expected to maintain hurricane strength as it moves across southern Georgia and into South Carolina   In the Carolinas, the storm is expected to bring heavy rain and flash flooding. 

Some areas of both North Carolina and South Carolina could see between six and eight inches of rain. The risk of flash flooding with this storm is high. Storm surge with this storm is also expected to be between one and three feet.  

Gusty winds could bring down trees and power lines.  Be prepared ahead of the storm in the event of extended power outages.
