Identifying the Hidden Idols in Your Life

Listen Later

Join Braden Pedersen for a short Back to the Bible Daily reflection on Ezekiel 14:3. Braden explains how idolatry isn’t just statues but anything in your heart that takes God’s place—security, control, approval, comfort, success—and challenges you to re-center your life on God with practical, heart-level application.

Read — Slowly read Ezekiel 14:3 (ESV): “These men have taken their idols into their hearts…” Notice the wording: idols in the heart, not on an altar.
Reflect — Ask: When I feel pressure, fear, or uncertainty, what do I turn to first? List the top 2–3 things you rely on for security or identity.
Respond — Short prayer: Father, search our hearts and reveal what we trust more than You. Give us humility to turn from it and the faith to trust You alone. Amen.
Reveal — Tell one trusted person one specific thing you’re asking God to reorder in your life and invite them to pray for you; let that honest conversation point someone else toward trusting God.
