Jaskaran Anand, geb. 1992 in Neu-Delhi (Indien), lebt seit 2015 in Linz. Er ist ein international anerkannter Performancekünstler, der als künstlerischer Leiter, Tänzer und Choreograf, Pädagoge, Initiator, Produzent und Videodramaturg arbeitet. Er ist Mitbegründer und Leiter der in Linz ansässigen Kunst-, Kultur- und Forschungsorganisation trivium, welche sich auf die Entschlüsselung der kulturellen Intersektionalität in menschlichen Körpern konzentriert. Seine Arbeiten sind transdisziplinäre Interventionen, die auf Überschneidungen zwischen performativer, wissenschaftlicher und kunstbasierter Forschung und partizipatorisch-kollaborativen künstlerischen Praktiken basieren: Choreographie und Tanz werden als Kommunikationsmethode innerhalb und außerhalb des traditionellen Kunst- und öffentlichen Raums eingesetzt. Er erforscht die (De-)Konstruktion der Mechanismen der Realitätsbildung für das Selbst im Leben eines geopolitischen menschlichen Körpers und konzentriert sich auf den menschlichen Körper als Inter-/Intraface. Seine Arbeiten, Interviews und Diskussionen wurden auf Festivals, in Institutionen, online und unter freiem Himmel in Österreich, Slowenien, den USA, Neuseeland und Indien präsentiert.
Seine fortlaufende Langzeitproduktion „L-INKED“ verkörpert trans-sektionale Perspektiven im Kontext von Beziehungen, die auf soziokulturellen Identitätsnarrativen, Geschlecht und Sexualität basieren. Seine jüngsten Arbeiten: „In-between Privacy“, „Hibernating Further“ und „MachinedHuman!“ beschäftigen sich mit der Digitalisierung, ökologisch-psychologischen Aspekten der Gesellschaft und der Philosophie des Posthumanismus. Er war in den letzten Jahren auf Festivals wie Imagetanz Festival/brut Wien, Impulstanz Vienna International Dance Festival, ARS Electronica Festival, Oriente Occidente Festival und Rome Europa Festival zu sehen.
Auf der Grundlage von Tanztheater, Meditation und kunstpädagogischer Praxis leitet und organisiert er improvisationsbasierte Workshops und pädagogische Projekte: „Moving Energies“, „City Swarming“ und „Playful Bodies“, die sich auf das Bewusstsein von Körper und Geist konzentrieren.
Seit 2012 ist er in der europäischen und indischen Welt des zeitgenössischen Tanzes und der Performancekunst tätig, wo er als Performer/Kollaborateur mit Ivo Dimchev, Dschungel Wien, Liz King/D.ID Dance Identity, Opera de Lausanne und Teatro della Tosse/Balletto Civile gearbeitet hat. Er hat seinen Bachelor-Abschluss in Informatik an der Universität von Delhi, Indien, gemacht und einen zweiten/dritten kombinierten Bachelor-Abschluss in Tanzperformance und Tanzpädagogik an der Anton Bruckner Universität, Linz, Österreich. In Kürze wird er seinen Master-Abschluss in Interface Cultures an der Kunstuniversität Linz, Österreich, machen.

His ongoing long-term production “L-INKED” embodies trans-sectional perspectives on relationship-formation based on socio-cultural identity narratives, gender, and sexuality. His recent works: “In-between Privacy”, “Hibernating Further” and “MachinedHuman!” approach digitalization; ecology-psychological aspect of the society and the philosophy of post humanism. He has been seen at festivals such as Imagetanz Festival/brut Wien, Impulstanz Vienna International Dance Festival, ARS Electronica Festival, Oriente Occidente Festival and Rome Europa Festival in the last years.
Based on dance-theatre, meditation and art-education based practices he leads and co-organises improvisation based workshops and pedagogical projects: “Moving Energies”, “City Swarming” and “Playful Bodies”, focusing on body-mind consciousness.
Since 2012, he is engaged in the European & Indian contemporary dance and performance art world where he has worked as a performer/collaborator with Ivo Dimchev, Dschungel Wien, Liz King/D.ID Dance Identity, Opera de Lausanne , and Teatro della Tosse/Balletto Civile. He has completed his bachelor’s degree in computer science from University of Delhi, India, and obtained a second/third combined bachelor’s degree in Dance Performance & Dance Pedagogy from Anton Bruckner University, Linz, Austria. He will soon be attaining a master’s degree in Interface Cultures from the Art University of Linz, Austria.
