In Psalm 1, the blessed life is marked by the person who is like a rooted tree, in other words, a person who embraces their different roles within the context of their community, whether it be friend, mentor, parent, spouse, etc. Though in some ways to be a rooted tree is limiting and not as free, God designed us to thrive the most in the context of his boundaries and the community that he's placed us in.
