Identity Transformation - Chapter 7 The Duality

Listen Later

This episode discusses the mechanisms of duality and how we are often trapped by concepts and their anti-concepts. The dualistic nature of our world leads us to create opposing ideas, such as "humble" being good and "arrogant" being bad, which are often influenced by external injunctions or societal expectations. By seeking to embody a perceived positive concept and avoid a negative one, we can inadvertently limit ourselves and experience undesirable outcomes, essentially paying a "price" for our adherence to this duality. This episode proposes an exercise using a four-column table to analyse the benefits and drawbacks of both a concept and its anti-concept, ultimately suggesting that by recognising the interconnectedness of these apparent opposites and understanding what remains when they are removed, we can gain freedom and become more authentically ourselves.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to share these transformative practices, and emphasizing that "the important thing is not what you do but who you become".
