Roll out the barrel! After a 44-year hiatus and a painstaking restoration, North Hollywood's distinctive Idle Hour Cafe, built in 1941, is once again ready for action. The New York Times reports that new owner Bobby Green, whose 1933 Group operates a string of retro-kitsch establishments, including the Bigfoot Lodge and Sassafras, poured about a million dollars into the barrel-shaped building's refurbishment. Reopening in February, the new-old Idle Hour Cafe will offer a menu of "American drinks and food" and a giant bulldog for private parties.
