This episode is a little intense, proven by the fact that Cassandra actually cries at one point.
We're talking about the holiness of God again! The Israelites received a pretty simple command: Have no idols; worship only God. Yet, this was a difficult command for the Israelites to keep. (It's a difficult one for us in the 21st century, too.) Thousands died as a direct result of their idolatry. And yet, God remained faithful. In fact, God is always faithful, even when we are not.
