IEVA'S POLKA – LYRICS TUTORIAL 3
This is the third tutorial of Ievan polkka lyrics in Finnish. I have now added to the end the "verses learned so far" part, as some of you have requested. I also tested different equipment, and that's why the audio quality changes a bit. Sorry about that! But I wanted to get this uploaded for you as soon as possible. 😃 I also forgot to repeat one whole line... I'm trying to get better in this, but since I have other work again (after Christmas holiday) I might not be able to put all the effort on these videos that I'd like to. I'm working on getting better equipment, though, and my goal is to be able to shoot high quality picture.
OK, here's the story of the third verse. My translations are not exhaustive, but give a rough idea of the meaning of the words. The story is told in a humorous and down to earth style. And again, remember that this text is written in a Finnish dialect that's very difficult to translate unambiguously... But you get the idea. 😃
VERSE 3 – the story:
Ieva's mother is in her bedroom singing hymns, while the lad is in the neighbour wooing her daughter. This lad doens't mind about any old wifes when he is dancing to and fro. Then comes again the chorus which doesn't mean anything except the last word would be something like slowly or little by little.
