This is the fifth tutorial of Ievan polkka lyrics. I'd like to remind you, that my translations are not exhaustive, but give an idea of the meaning of the words. The story is told in a humorous and down to earth style. And again, remember also that this text is written in Savo dialect which is very difficult to translate unambiguously. 😃

VERSE 5 – THE STORY: The guy says to Ieva's Mom to shut her mouth or he will not guarantee her health. 'You'll stay healthy if you just go to your little rathole and lay down'. He basically means that in his opinion the Mother should just mind her own business. He is being brave in front of Ieva, of course. In the end he keeps on being bold and saying that he doesn't bother being too gentle while dancing with the ladies. (This doesn't mean threatening with violence!) And then again the cheerful trolling. 😃
