I don’t mean compromise in the way that two healthy people meet each other halfway. That’s part of life, that’s part of love. No relationship thrives without some give and take. What I’m talking about is when the “compromise” starts to feel like
you giving up yourself. When every choice, every plan, every dream has to shrink down so it can fit into his comfort zone, his needs, his world… that’s not compromise anymore. That’s self-erasure.
