My answer to the question of, "What type of salon would you open tomorrow?", has changed quite a few times over the years.

The reason it's changed is due a number of things, changes in the industry, changes in the economy and changes in my knowledge through experiencing so many different approaches to running a salon.

So I decided to sit-down and draw up a business model of what I think the perfect salon model would look like today.

This is not to say that other models don't work just as well or even better. But based on what I feel the stylists of today are looking for, what the guests of today are looking for, what it takes to stand-out and be noticed today and most importantly, what makes you most money as a stylist and as an owner!
