How do you buy a car without getting screwed? In this episode, we feature a true story by Katy Barrett about how she navigated this process by following - or attempting to follow - the advice of her brother. After the story, we'll hear from Katy's brother and father to get their perspective on the story.

Katy Barrett is a frequent Story District performer and a member of the Story District faculty. She first told this story in a show called "If I Were You: Stories about giving and taking advice." It later was selected for Story District's Top Shelf, Story District's annual showcase of the best stories of the year.
