Kris Grant is a CEO who is passionate about leadership. Reaching the C-level at just 32 and a single mum to two young children, Kris was a high achiever who worked hard.
Honing her management skills while leading over 50,000 staff throughout Asia Pacific at a global talent management firm where she held the position of CFO and COO, Kris came to a cross road. Unable to change the behaviours of the old men at the top and presented with a fresh opportunity to head up ASPL Group, a leading management consulting, training and recruitment organisation, Kris took a leap of faith and hasn’t looked back.
With a leadership team comprising 90% females, Kris has developed a team of highly engaged staff, and a roster of industry experts who work to deliver co-designed goals for a national client portfolio which includes all levels of government, major telcos and commercial clients in the banking, mining and health sectors.
Kris joins me to discuss balancing career and family, flexible work arrangements and her passion – leadership!

This week Gabby Ianniello joins me to chat about the things we wish we had known. As an educator and the founder of The Adulting Manual, a platform where twenty-somethings can learn the life lessons they weren't taught in school, Gabby hears some recurring themes and we ponder if the education system will ever give us the skills we really need. Gabby is also the host of Corporate Quitter, a podcast where entrepreneurs and side-hustlers share their stories and provide listeners with actionable steps to help them achieve their own goals so we discuss some of the lessons learned and what will happen to society if we all become corporate quitters.

As a Registered Nurse with a Masters in Leadership & Management and a Lean Sigma Green Belt Patricia Gent was climbing the ladder in the world of medicine. Spending time in critical care research, Trish was instrumental in ensuring everyone’s voice was heard to enact real and meaningful change.
But she wasn’t listening to herself and after 18 years in medicine Trish felt burnt out. After some soul searching, Trish decided she needed a change and went on to found Resiliency Reframed and now spends her time helping high achievers prioritize themselves and create a life of balance and alignment through coaching, kundalini yoga and the akashic records.
Trish joins me to discuss how someone transitions from a job they love when the job may not love you back.

Upon completing her studies as an international student in Canada, Jette Stubbs was faced with the ultimate ultimatum – find a job in 90 days or leave the country. With no family to lean on and less than $100 in her bank account, Jette quickly realised she had a ton of skills but no idea how to market herself.
Jette joins me to discuss how she went from applying for 100 jobs and receiving no response to finding her dream career. Jette’s path to success has not been smooth in fact there have been many obstacles to overcome including her mother getting robbed and stabbed and her father being diagnosed with dementia when she was just 25. Becoming a full time carer overnight, Jette eventually realised that she didn’t just want a job, she needed to find a way to make money through the alignment of her lifestyle and values.

Listen as David Weiss, aka Flat Earth Dave tries to convince me that the earth is flat.
The theory that the earth is flat has been around for a many years and has been described as the ultimate conspiracy theory. For those that do believe, it’s an enlightening experience.
As one of the most renown flat earthers, Dave Weiss is on a mission to wake up the world to flat earth as he says it’s the most important topic today. As someone that hasn’t given the topic any thought I ask Dave why should we care & Dave tells me I’m not participating in life! Don’t miss this conversation, regardless of your position.

After signing a national youth league contract with the Central Coast Mariners Matt was hungry to make it as a professional soccer player. Training 12-13 sessions per week and playing matches with his team, Matt was pushing himself to the absolute limits. Nothing was going to stop him from achieving the end goal, except perhaps himself. Football became his identity.
With his sights set on playing internationally, Matt moved to the UK and signed with a conference premier league club, Southport FC so what happened to make Matt walk away from it all?

With me this week is Dr Elizabeth Pritchard and Christine Burns from WALT Institute. Together this unlikely duo have a vision to create a global STEMM community that embraces Authentic Leadership by helping individuals reach their highest potential.
Both high achievers, (Elizabeth completed her PhD in just 3 years and Christine played Indoor Hockey for New Zealand for 13 years), they have also experienced their fair share of adversity leaving them well positioned to help others achieve great things.
Christine and Elizabeth speak candidly about overcoming the trauma of childhood sexual assault, receiving a life changing cancer diagnosis, playing sport at an elite level, equality, equity, quotas and so much more. There may be tears, there is plenty of laughter, there different opinions and most importantly the conversation is definitely authentic.
This is the story of two fearless friends on a mission to empower the women in STEMM.

*EXCLUSIVE Interview with Robert Ray, the last man sentenced to Death in Colorado*
At just 34, Robert Ray has already been in prison for 16 years. Sentenced to death in 2005 for a crime he is adamant he did not commit, Robert was the last man sentenced to Colorado’s Death Row.
In his first ever interview, I talk candidly with Robert, about his life growing up in the ghettos of Chicago, gang culture, his trial and why he was happy to receive the death penalty.
Robert opens up on the pain of being abandoned by his wife and loved ones, we discuss what he really thinks of the jury foreman and what happened when Governor Jared Polis commuted his sentence.
With the victim being a senator’s son, questionable witness motives and a racist jury foreman who published a book on the trial, Robert’s case had everything, but did it have justice?
Incarcerated Since: 2005
Sentence Received: Death Sentence
Commuted to Life Without Parole in 2020
Convictions: Attempted 1st Degree Murder
1st Degree Assault
Accessory to Murder
1st Degree Murder (Conspiracy) x2

Jesus ‘Eddie’ Campa joins me to discuss and reflect on his illustrious and at times, controversial career in law enforcement.
Born and raised in El Paso Texas, Jesus retired as the Chief Deputy of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office after a 20 year career. Jesus’ last tour as Chief of Police in a city impacted by racial divisions led him to create and implement the innovative No Colors No Labels Initiative designed to remove the preconceived notion that the Police were racially motivated.
As an advocate for diversity and with firm beliefs that the workforce should mirror the community they serve, Jesus speaks candidly about the challenges he faced within his own ranks and why he feels he was in the right place, at the wrong time. If you would like to know more about Jesus you can follow him on LinkedIn, or check out his websites https://jesuseddiecampa.com/ , https://www.teamcampa.com/ . https://leadingthroughadversity.com/ and you can read more at www.ifonlyyouknewpodcast.com.au
