“If you only knew… who you are speaking to… you would ask.” These words are embedded in Jesus’ conversation with the woman at the well in John 4, a profound passage that hits on our perspective of worship, the nature of spiritual life, conflict along racial divides, and so much more. But this one simple phrase that is easy to miss will infuse your prayers life again. I’d argue it’s often not the what, where, when or why concerning prayer that keep us from a thriving prayer life, but the “who.” When we genuinely pause to consider WHO we are speaking to, we will come to Him in prayer! And Jesus’ core teachings in The Our Father lay our foundation for who we are praying to, and how that informs our prayers. We’ll dig into all of that and more!
