You might not see the monster, but you see them chewed up or you just see dry bones. Them you should stop and ponder what happened. Rushing ahead does not mean you will not be eaten too. 

There is right and wrong, there is being wise or stupid. Bravery can be confused with being foolhardy. Hardheaded (can a positive thing if realistic) person often think they are acting on faith, while just being stupid while heading for a beat-down. 

Luke 14:31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 14:32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.
