Naaman the commander in the army of Aram was a leper. He on one of his campaigns had raided an Israeli village where he took a girl that was his servant.
This girl told him about Elisha and urged him to meet him for a healing.
Naaman later left for Israel and was given instructions by Elisha to take a bath seven times in the river Jordan.
At first he felt offended and mentioned that there were better rivers in his nation if he needed a bath. Meanwhile the girl servant from Israel persuaded him to obey . Afterwards he was healed and he brought gifts to Elisha
Prophet Elisha didn't accept the gift . Then Naaman took sands from Israel to use as a platform to worship God.
Gehazi was not happy with his master as he had not accepted the clothings and sliver brought to him. So Gehazi went after Naaman and took the gift lying that his master needed them.
On getting back to the house. Elisha reproved Gehazi and all the while he was seeing what Gehazi was doing (he being a grea prophet ) .
Elisha then cursed Gehazi that he will be leprous with his generation.
Lessons
Learning from the story of Naaman , teaches that we should not commonize God's instructions. It might not make sense to us but we should be obedient.
Gehazi allowed greed to destroy him. We should run away from greed and out on the cloak of contentment .
