Notes
People matter deeply to God.
So they matter deeply to us.
The church exists for more than itself, it exists for the world around it.
The church is not a clique or a club, it’s a rescue mission.
You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost.
- Ezekiel 34:4
Because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves.
- Ezekiel 34:8
For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look, I myself will search for my sheep and seek them out.
- Ezekiel 34:11
He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way.
- Luke 19:3-4
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
- Jesus of Nazareth
For Christ’s love compels us… And all of this is a gift from. God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.
- 2nd Corinthians 5:14 & 18
Intentionally connecting the disconnected to Christ, Community and a Cause.
Comfort with our current impact will rob us of God’s plan for future impact.
Our mission does not allow us to ignore opportunities to help people know Jesus, or avoid challenges that hinder people from seeing Jesus.
Practical Steps:
- Three year, prayer led, generosity journey.
- A goal of $2.25 million over thirty-six months.
- Planned giving to plan spending.
- Night of Worship 3/8 and Town Hall 3/15 www.southpoint4u.com/townhall
- Kick start gift on Sunday March 26th.
Prayerfully ask God what your partnership should look like, and allow Him to shape your response.
