Cal Football Secures NFL Veteran Ike Hilliard as Wide Receivers Coach and Co-Offensive CoordinatorThe University of California, Berkeleys football program has made a significant hire, bringing in NFL veteran Ike Hilliard as their new wide receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator. Hilliard, a 49-year-old with a stellar playing career, spent the last two seasons as the wide receivers coach for the Atlanta Falcons. He replaces Kyle Cefalo, who left for Southern Mississippi.Hilliards coaching journey began in 2011 with the Miami Dolphins and has since included stints with six NFL teams. He even worked with former Cal star DeSean Jackson during their time in Washington. His only prior college coaching experience was at Auburn in 2022, where he coached receivers and served as interim offensive coordinator.Under new head coach Tosh Lupoi, Hilliard will join forces with offensive coordinator Jordan Somerville to shape Cals attack. Lupoi, currently defensive coordinator at Oregon, will fully focus on Cal once the Ducks College Football Playoff run ends. Bears fans may see the new staff in action soon after Oregons semifinal game against Indiana on January 9th.
