A racing driver survived a horrible wreck thanks to tons of technology which mean that, though he would have died in 1990 in the same wreck, he was fine now.  And everybody thanked God instead of the men who did the work.  We don't do this with other forms of work:  When the girl at McDonalds hands me the bag, I don't thank God, I thank her.
