Tazewell County Clerk John Ackerman joins The Greg and Dan Show to talk about the Rental Housing Support Program originally passed in 2005 in the State of Illinois and the recent lame-duck session of the state legislature where House Bill 3878 gained passage.

Ackerman explains the current rental housing support fee is $9 per document, but the recently-passed bill that starts July 1st, will double the fee to $18 for real-estate related documents.

Continuing, Ackerman describes the lack of knowledge about this program for both the public local county clerks as well as the little to no amount of funds being provided to counties outside of the City of Chicago and Cook County.
