In this episode we will explore why? The illusion of inclusion has led to a false assumption that black people are equal and free, when in reality they are victims of systematic racism. The appearance of diversity, tolerance and acceptance created by this illusion masks the underlying racial inequalities that still exist today across the world. Although it may feel satisfying to think we've come far enough beyond COVID-19 where all races are treated with true equality and respect, there's still tremendous work to be done to overcome the institutionalizing forces at play. Things such as representation, access, power have yet to be truly dismantled. For example, black people still constitute a minority in powerful job positions and continue to be underrepresented in corporate America. To truly create real change for the betterment of all means tackling the illusion of inclusion head-on.
