    • 3 PRETTY LITTLE LIES ABOUT SIN:

    1. I’M NOT A BAD PERSON.

      2. 1 John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

      • UNLESS WE SEE OURESELVES AS SINNERS WE WILL NOT SEE OUR NEED FOR A SAVIOR.

        • Isaiah 64:6 …all our righteous acts are like filthy rags…and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

        1. ALL SIN IS THE SAME.

          2. OUR OBEDIENCE OR DISOBEDIENCE INFLUENCES:

          • Rewards in heaven.
          • Punishment in hell.
          • Both earthly and eternal consequences.

            • Luke 12:1-5

            Luke 12:40-41

            Luke 12:47-48“That servant who knows his master's will and…does not do what his master wants will be beaten with many blows. But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows.”

            Luke 20:46-47 NLT "Beware of these teachers of religious law! For they love to parade in flowing robes and to have everyone bow to them as they walk in the marketplaces…But they shamelessly cheat widows out of their property…Because of this, their punishment will be the greater."

            1. I’VE ALREADY SINNED, I MIGHT AS WELL CONTINUE.

              2. 2 Peter 2:20 If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.

              • THE MOST MISERABLE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD ARE NOT NON-CHRISTIANS BUT CHRISTIANS LIVING IN SIN.

                • James 1:14-15 But each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

                Revelation 3:19 “Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.”

                1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
