Every so often and every year, conservatives, nationalists, and fascists will trot out the whole "we need to return to our roots" or some variation thereof as they whinge and complain about the changing of the country. Newsflash, every decade or so this country has changed ever since the first white men landed on its shores. "Traditional Canada" has never been a thing and it's high time we recognize that.
