Cohorted’s host, Ximena Guijarro, talks to Ellie Middleton about the true meaning of professionalism, neurodiversity, and going viral on LinkedIn!  

Ellie’s journey started long before her viral LinkedIn post about professionalism, but that’s when her career really took a positive turn. Through that post, Ellie gained a platform where she could talk about and make a difference for the causes she believes in.  

She struggled with her mental health as a teenager, going through severe mood swings, panic attacks, and bouts of anxiety that would keep her indoors for weeks. After years of knowing something was wrong but being consistently misdiagnosed, Ellie finally got the news that made complete sense: a definitive ADHD diagnosis, with a possible but unconfirmed autism diagnosis.  

In this episode, Ellie talks about removing the mask that she hid behind for so long, the challenges girls and young women face in the ADHD/autistic world, and being “openly chaotic”.  

Her mission is to get information out there to people (especially girls) who may be going through similar things and help them to feel empowered to advocate for themselves.
