When exactly did the customer become the employee?

And here’s the thing: this isn’t about hating technology. Some self-service options are genuinely convenient. But there’s a big difference between giving customers an option and making customers do the work because you no longer provide the service.

So why are we afraid of being called a “Karen” for expecting a human being to actually help us?
