Mingling clueless amidst the stellar

Standing—as in a lineup—against a wall

A child in amongst the pillars or towers of light

1: And like Miss Annie Sullivan

With her long arm of the scholar

She grabs me by the collar—yanks me…

Into a place my blindness comes undone;

And sends my deafness on the run.

2: And more than just coaxing me,

Or presenting a relentless grilling to me

She drags me into 360 degrees of coherency;

I emerge with a global view

Of every last thing around me.

3: I’ve been dumb in many more ways than one

Stuck inside of my own head

I’m sucking on my thumb

I’m thirsty for the very living wah-wah.

Won’t someone offer to me some taste of real?
