Cuthbert and Tasselned are joined once again by the Liber's map-maker, Huckabee. A great Council of Chaos is called by the Shadow Tyrant rulers of Insulaforum IX as the planet's defenders scramble to coordinate their actions and resist the dual threat of Tyranid invasion and Imperial insurrection. All three lexarchivists follow the action across the western hemisphere as Huckabee's favorite warband, the Abyssal Phantoms, lead a series of defensive actions and counterattacks against the Xenos hordes.
