In this episode, we kick off our summer series! I have a new guest with me, Ethan Pierce, and we jump somewhat back into our Character Formation series, but we are focusing on the fruit of the spirit over the next few weeks! As always, hope this episode is encouraging and helps you grow in your walk with Jesus.
In this episode, I explain the 4-8 standard, which comes from Philippians 4:8 as a great formative tool for becoming more like Jesus. I also take some time to talk about the situation in Ukraine and pray for God's peace and for a resolution. As a podcast that talks about theology and life, it's important to be aware of what is broken in the world and in need of God's hand to do the miraculous.
In the episode, we take a break from the current series to share with you a valuable lesson learned over the past 2 months. Life isn't always easy, many of the mountain top moments are quickly followed by struggle, so how do we find joy in those times when everything was going so well?
In this episode, we dive into wedding season because we're talking about 1 Corinthians 13 and the famous love passage. But we also dive into the virtue of love, how we struggle with this as Christians, but also how we can begin to cultivate this virtue to have a positive impact on the world. Hope you all enjoy!
In this episode, we continue in our new series on Character Formation as we dive into the virtue of discernment and what it means to cultivate discernment in our lives. We'll take a deep look at the beginning of Proverbs for this and we hope you all walk away with a grasp of what discernment is and how to find it. Hope you all enjoy!
Welcome to our new series on character formation! In this episode, we discuss the foundation for character formation and that starts with the fear of God (different from a fear of spiders!). We dive into this theological idea and then begin to discuss why character formation is so important and our goals/hopes for this series! Hope you all enoy!
In this stand alone episode, I take a trip down memory lane for a purpose. That purpose is to express gratitude for where I've come from, and to help us all continue to learn from our life experiences, even the ones that happened decades ago. The main idea of this episode is what will you put in your box in the attic to move on from and what will you put in your life backpack to take with you wherever you go. It's a challenging thing to think about, but incredibly helpful to do, so I hope you can do this for yourself and hope you enjoy this episode!
Side note, the episode photo is the house I grew up in, in CT!
In this episode, we finish off our series on rest with an interview done with my twin brother Jason! Hope you enjoy our banter back and forth, but I love his wisdom and heart for caring for people and himself and his wife! Hope you all enjoy this episode!
And if you can't tell, the picture of us is a re-creation of the brother handshake from Hot Rod!
In this episode, I get to interview some of my best friends, Greg and Abby! The Castels share their rest patterns and I also get to talk about Abby's new book, Let It All Out and how so much of it goes hand in hand with learning to rest! Hope you all enjoy!
In this episode, myself and Matt talk about the ideas of hustle and hurry. These two terms are incredibly popular in Christian culture and in corporate culture and we take some time to contextualize these terms and help us keep our focus on Jesus and resting in Him. Hope you enjoy!
