Jesus took along Peter, James, and John. He was sad and troubled. He told them, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”
Jesus overwhelmed
Jesus took Peter and the brothers James and John with him. They went up on a very high mountain where they could be alone. Matthew 17:1-2
There in front of the disciples, Jesus was completely changed. His face was shining like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. Matthew 17:1-2
Jesus never hid the pain of His humanity or the power of His divinity.
His healthy honesty allowed the disciples to give grace to themselves while having faith in God.
