FIR is an acronym for First Information Report, also known as Preliminary Information Report in Urdu. By law, it is important to report any crime to the police as soon as possible. The benefit of delay in notification is given to the accused. Now the question arises how to file an FIR?
You want to approach the police on an issue but before that you have to understand that the police do not take action on every complaint but it only writes a report on the matters which are given by the law. Such cases are called intrusive police. Thefts, robberies, murders, kidnappings, rapes, harassment of women, severe beatings and threats of serious consequences are all possible. Apart from these, the police are also responsible for the investigation of other heinous crimes. There are some crimes in which the police are not authorized to take direct action. Cases of fraud, forgery, public harassment and minor injuries are examples.
Suppose you want to file a theft report for your bike. You will apply to the SHO under Section 154 of the Criminal Code. SHO stands for Station House Officer, commonly known as Thanedar. If you wish, you can also write the application yourself, otherwise you can also write from the editor in the police station. If you have written the application yourself, you will enter the full details of the crime in it, such as the name, address and other information of the accused. When and where did the crime take place? And information that can be helpful to the police in apprehending the accused will be given. It is also important to provide details of the stolen motorbike, Make, model, burr and its value. In the application you will write your name, address and phone number and finally sign and hand over to the police.
