Michael's Guide to IMPROV-Yourself:

Exercises:

  1. Writing exercises - Set a timer and let your thoughts run wild on the page, afterwards see what sticks! You can give yourself a one word suggestion, listen to a monologue, or go off the top of your head.
  2. Three things - find a random category generator and list three things from it or even five things for a real challenge.
  3. Characters in the car - While driving, experiment with voices, observe another driver and act like you think they would act.

      4. Pre-class:

      1. Pick an objective for your next class (Focus on space work, characters, range, who what where etc) then reflect in the car on the way home!
      2. Challenge yourself to jump up sooner and sit in a different seat/next to a new person
      3. If you often initiate, let your partner or vice versa
