Shelly is a former competitive gymnast, after being introduced to the sport at the age of 4 and started a collegiate gymnastics career at SJSU in 1996, which was short-lived, due to injury. She received a B.S. in Kinesiology, while she coached competitive gymnastics full time. She got married in 2001 and later changed my career path and completed my B.S. in electrical engineering in 2005. She had my first daughter in 2006 and left full-time coaching, entering the corporate world, as a hardware engineer, working for a startup solar company.
