Job 21:13, "They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave."

This verse points to the temporary nature of wealth and money in this life. People devote their soul, their heart, and all of their energy into accumulating wealth in this life. But what does it matter when you go down into the grave? The only thing that matters is your relationship with God and if you called on the Lord Jesus Christ to save you.

The unbeliever thinks his family name will endure to all generations. They call their lands after their own names. However, even the most wealthy and famous man is like the beasts that perish. Their way is their folly. Psalm 49:11-15.

Heavenly Father, I want to be careful to invest my life into what will truly count and will matter in eternity. Help me to keep my priorities in life in agreement with the truth that is in Jesus. Deliver me, Lord, from the love of money and covetousness. Help me to keep my focus on the gospel, and reaching as many people as possible with the gospel. Amen.
