After the tragedy on September 11th, 2001, the New York City literary community sponsored a now historic reading at the Great Hall at Cooper Union, introduced by Alice Quinn and featuring in Part 2 readings by Robert Pinksy, Sapphire, Vijay Seshadri, Anna Deavere Smith, Susan Sontag, and C. K. Williams.
