The ultimate goal of the yetis hahah is to make us believe that God has cast us off. The result of sin arouses shame and the belief that we are irredeemably deficient. As we begin Lent, we confront moments where unlike Jesus in the desert, we succumb to sin and we feel ashamed. And when we do, we need to remember the words of Nadia Boltz Webber, who says, “Sin is inevitable, but shame is optional.” The word is in you and it is in your heart. No one will be put to shame.
