Purity culture is an epidemic. It's a sly way of policing women's bodies, using stereotypes against women of color, and furthering perverted agendas. In this episode, I talk purity culture from a religious lens, hypersexuality in media, the "innocent little girl" trope, and a whole lotta other shit.
Pick the bones out of your salmon. Get vaccinated. Have safe sex. That's all I got for this one.
...because we've always been that bitch. Happy New Year! With everyone creating new year's resolutions and trying to be their best selves, let's talk 'that girl' culture and the problematic narratives surrounding our appearances. If you didn't already know—confidence comes from within, sweets. Trust me when I say, you've already got it all.
Per the wise words of Sabrina Claudio: I'm alone, but I'm not lonely. This episode, I'm slowing things down a bit and talking about the very real reality of experiencing loneliness when you're both around others and by yourself, as well as some personal ways I combat feeling lonely. Life is a fucking process. A reminder that when all else fails, know you'll always have you.
Let's talk queerness. I talk about my first time with a girl, how much I hate people who ask me to have threesomes, how to unapologetically own your sexuality, and a bunch of other really important shit. Grab ya drinks and tune in, my loves. There's a lot to cover.
I'm not actually the family disappointment. At least, I don't think I am. I do, however, make a lot of mistakes and sometimes feel shame for doing so. In this episode, I talk about the social confines of failure, how the way we see ourselves through the lens of others does us more harm than good, and how to have empathy for yourself when you're going through the most.
And we're back. In this episode, I talk about first times, the flaws of sex education, setting boundaries, changing our views towards sex, and a bunch of other good stuff surrounding the very real reality of growing up in a world where sex is supposed to sell.
It's only our second date together, and here we are, talking about religious trauma! In this episode, I speak on my experience with religion and how growing up with harmful beliefs has turned me into the sinful whore I am today...I'm kidding, kind of. In all seriousness, I talk about overcoming shame towards sex, how to go about carrying yourself as sexual being, and what it should look like when you're owning your identity. Brace yourself for this is truly a last minute recording where my thoughts on life run rampant once again. Can you last forty minutes with me?
The dreaded pilot episode. The episode with no sense of direction. Something that feels like a first date, and has you questioning if you'll want a second one. In this episode, I talk about the pandemic, a bit about dropping out of college, hook-up culture, a man in the navy who broke my heart, and a bunch of other shit that make as much as sense as it can for what is essentially a forty-five minute therapy session.
