This episode of “In Concert With CMS” features two great works of chamber music for strings. The first is Mozart’s brooding C-minor String Quintet. This minor-key work is full of melancholy, but eventually gives way to an explosive major-key finale. Then, enjoy Dvorák’s splendid A major String Sextet. This piece features the folk song textures that are an integral part of Dvorák’s musical toolkit.
