Red Deer Chief of Emergency Service Ken McMullen earned the 2020 Career Fire Chief of the Year at the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs and the Fire Underwriters Survey of Canada Fire Rescue Canada’s 2020 Celebration of Excellence. Chief McMullen was recognized for his efforts in the field of fire education throughout Alberta and his work to reduce the stigma associated with mental health advocacy to ensure supports are available for responders.
