In commemoration of Anzac Day, Treysta's Senior Adviser, Adam Drinkwater, spoke to Colonel John Platt, CSC (retired) about the importance of this day and inspiring younger generations to remember it too.
He shares stories and his own experience around this day, as well as the upcoming 80th anniversary of the first Japanese submarines entering Sydney Harbour.
John was commissioned as an Officer in the Australian Army in 1973 and served overseas in the United Kingdom, Germany, United States, the Philippines and East Timor. For outstanding leadership, he was awarded a Conspicuous Service Cross in the 2000 Australia Day Honours List.
Currently he is Chairman of Australia Remembers - Northern Beaches and North Shore, and a Director of the Manly Life Saving Club, alongside his commitments to other not-for-profits.
