In July this year, the Mangosuthu University of Technology appointed Professor Nokuthula Sibiya as the new Vice-Chancellor and officially installed her on Friday, the 1st of November 2024. She is the first woman in 45 years of the university’s existence to hold this position. Professor Sibiya's appointment comes at a critical moment, as efforts to stabilize the university are underway.
