Understanding the scope of the work of The Presidential Climate Commission, and getting their thoughts on how to address Loadshedding.

 

They have recently announced that they do not agree with government’s plan to extend the operation of coal-fired power stations beyond their natural lifespan. This comes after Electricity Minister Kgosientso Ramokgopa received the go-ahead from the ANC and cabinet in delaying the decommissioning of power plants to help stabilise the energy grid.
