For years, I introduced myself through the roles I played.
The strong one.
The achiever.
The caretaker.
The rescuer.
The one who always figured it out.
But what happens when the identities that once helped us survive no longer fit the person we’re becoming?
In this deeply personal episode, I explore the stories we tell ourselves, the identities we build around our experiences, and the courage it takes to release the versions of ourselves we’ve outgrown.
I share reflections on self-worth, relationships, resilience, people-pleasing, turning 50, and a powerful lesson that emerged during an ayahuasca ceremony that left me asking:
Who am I without the story?
Together, we’ll explore:
* Why survival identities can become prisons when growth begins
* The difference between who we are and the stories we’ve built around our experiences
* How self-worth becomes tangled with achievement, caregiving, and being needed
* Why letting go of an identity can feel like grief
* The role self-trust plays in becoming who we’re meant to be
If you’ve ever found yourself standing between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming, this conversation is for you.
Reflection Question
What story are you still telling yourself that no longer fits who you’re becoming?
