You may not know the name, but you know the man. He says women love him, men hate him. Ron Kline invented the magnetic strip on the back of credit cards. It was taking SOOOO LOOONG to validate credit cards when you used them to purchase something, so the banks asked him to come up with a better system.  The rest – and you hear this expression a lot, but it is literally true in here – is history.

As life-changing as that was for most of us, the Grandfather of Possibilities didn't make much money off of it. But he also developed the computerized systems for multiple listings (MLS) that real estate agents and developers use today. He developed the voice-response system for the banking industry. And he revolutionized the stock market when he came up with the software that is now standard on the floor of exchanges. (You may not see this, but it has changed your life, if you do any investing.)

He has just patented the Ident-Eye-Fier. It helps visually impaired people identify people near them, using a smartphone, an earpiece, and camera glasses.

Ron has been called the Thomas Edison of our time, and his message to us all is, keep it simple.  He says most problems are, but we complicate them so much, we can't solve them. It's like word problems we'd get in math that gave you tons of information, most of which did not relate to the question at hand. Once you got rid of all of that, the answer was usually very simple.  That's life, he says.  Keep it simple.
