You have your iPad protected with a pass code. You save certain documents to encrypted folders. What about pictures? How can you encrypt them, so when a service like Google+ syncs the pictures, they get nothing but a jumbled mess.
Check out In Plain Sight – an app that will turn a picture into a jumbled mess. If you know the 3 digit code, you can unscramble the picture. Otherwise, it just looks like static.
How to encrypt: Load an image into the app. Choose a 3 digit sequence to lock. Choose the locked photo, and save it to your camera roll. Delete the original.
How to decrypt: Call up the scrambled image. Set the code, and it instantly unscrambles.
This is a free app and is available for iPhone and iPad. Best yet, it can become a fun game for some. Encrypt a picture, send to a friend. They try to figure out the code, then see the picture. They could re-key the password and send it back to you.
