We talk now to Dr Francesca Conradie, a principal investigator at the Clinical HIV Research Unit. She is calling for a renewed focus on TB testing in the country. She says that this will help find new TB cases that she says went missing during the Covid-19 lockdown. Reports indicate that South Africa’s TB programme took a severe knock during lockdown which has left many people undiagnosed.
