Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

1. It’s about process,

not position.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 5:21

2. If you want to grow it,

you’ve got to own it.

[C]onfess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

James 5:16

3. Don’t forget it’s a fight.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the . . . spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.

Ephesians 6:12-13

4. Pray with your ears open.

[W]hen he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears. . . .

He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.

John 16:13-15

5. Be a river not a swamp.

“Whoever believes in me, as scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”

By this he meant the Spirit. . . .

John 7:38-39

6. Eat / Exert / Rest

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Matthew 11:28

7. Take joy in the journey!

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
