He's also got a great story about learning to drive stickshift in Baghdad. But you'll have to listen to the podcast for the details on that one.

We had to complete the Mayoral Collection for In Sumter with Sarah Jane, so this week's guest is our former Mayor Joe McElveen!
The conversation has quite a few twists and turns, so there's a little for everyone! They touch on real estate law, penny projects, how local politics have changed in the last decade, and what leadership means in a town like Sumter. And did you know Mayor McElveen played the baritone saxophone?
