May was Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage month. With that as a backdrop, a new historical fiction novel released during May, tells the story of two Japanese Americans and their tumultuous path to survive childhood after the bombing at Pearl Harbor, the incarceration camps in the U-S, and the bombing of Hiroshima.

For this edition of In The Author's Voice, WSIU's Jeff Williams recently talks with authors
Kent and Constance Matsumoto about their new novel Of White Ashes. The novel is based on the experiences of Kent's parents.
