In Episode 10–Healing Isn’t Linear (Part 1), we asked the question: Is the healing journey linear?
Should you expect constant forward progress or is it more realistic–if not desirable–to expect that the journey will be bumpy?
Is a healing crisis actually a sign that you’re on the right track?
The answer we arrived at: True healing is never linear because it's found only through nature. Nature is cyclical, seasonal and dynamic. Every part of the year plays a role in creating a distinct whole. As such, healing will look much more like a spiral than it will a straight line–and when you understand how the parts all fit together, you realize: that is actually how it’s supposed to work.
Therefore, a healing crisis isn’t a moment of regression; it’s a reflection that the deeper you is preparing for what’s to come–another moment of change and transition. Another step in the journey towards true health.
The timing of Episode 10 was intentional. The period between the spring equinox and the summer solstice had just passed. And as we explained in that discussion, that is exactly when the healing journey tends to reveal itself as non-linear and, what is often referred to as, a healing crisis could occur (to understand why, check out Episode 10). After the episode was released, we received a great deal of feedback from listeners and the message was nearly universal: this was exactly what they were experiencing OR had experienced in the past. Hearing the episode opened them up to a greater understanding and acceptance. A willingness to flow with the process instead of resist. A reframing of the situation from frustration into opportunity.
However, time has passed since Episode 10 and we’ve crossed another threshold to meet a new season, a new transition, a new opportunity.
We now find ourselves in the period between the Summer Solstice and the Fall Equinox. This is a unique moment–the days are getting shorter, the nights are getting longer and the UV frequencies are getting stronger. And as we established in Episode 10: every season represents a powerful opportunity for healing in the decentralized cycle of a solar year.
That is…if you seize the opportunity.
Unfortunately, this is where we often see the problem and why we want to have this discussion: summer has become the season of “busyness.” And for many, it passes by in a blur, gone before they could fully take advantage, not to be seen again for another solar cycle. In the journey of true healing, this really isn’t an option.
Given the feedback, we knew we had to do another episode detailing what makes the summer a unique season, provide a roadmap for maximizing what nature has provided and motivate people to take action.
In Part 1, we explore the changing environment–how the light-dark cycle shifts, what frequencies predominate and how to shape your day in a way that fully harnesses the opportunity.
In Part 2, which is available exclusively to Premium members, you’ll learn why you should never miss a sunrise, how transitional morning light builds your human surfaces, why the clothes you wear matter, and best practices for structuring your full day of light and dark.
